Languages
Intent
Our curriculum is aligned with the JSTC Curriculum intent and is designed to provide students with the tools to engage in a range of linguistic and cultural aspects of a Modern Foreign Language; promoting resilience, communication and problem solving as integral to language learning.
Implementation
Students are given a plethora of opportunities to practise all four linguistic components during their language lessons and beyond: Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing. The recent focus on Spanish phonics supports listening skills and an understanding of language.
Pupils are also supported with a range of cultural experience, through staff culture, enrichment activities and comparison tasks. Online resources complement both home learning and in class retrieval and retention.
